Pitot tube for engine measurement : systec Automotive has been developing, manufacturing, and distributing pitot tubes for measuring gases and liquids for over 15 years. Worldwide, systec is one of the leading manufacturers of pitot tubes for industrial and automotive applications.
Pitot tube sensors are particularly advantageous on engines because they are insensitive to contamination and exhibit very low pressure loss. Furthermore, they have a very high dynamic range, which even allows for crankshaft-indicated flow measurements.
TruckFlow
Our TruckFlow pitot tube is particularly recommended for measuring air volumes before and after the compressor and for determining recirculated exhaust gas (EGR). It features a superior, patented measurement profile that exhibits high linearity, is insensitive to contamination such as from the crankcase ventilation system, and allows for extremely fast measurements. Unlike thermal flow meters, the TruckFlow does not exhibit measurement changes due to deposits. This ensures precise volume measurement throughout the entire engine lifespan – up to 1,000,000 miles in the case of a truck engine. In a separate version, gases can also be measured at very high temperatures without cooling.
The TruckFlow pitot tube is used in series production on various engines and impresses with its long service life and robust reliability.
