Real-time signal analysis – mobile exhaust gas monitoring made easy (PEMS)
To measure a vehicle's emissions on the go, you first need small, lightweight measuring components. Whether it's exhaust gas monitoring on a passenger car or mobile exhaust gas measurement on a commercial vehicle – the lighter the measuring solution, the more precise the results and the more convenient the handling.
Furthermore, high exhaust gas temperatures exceeding 500°C place additional demands on the measuring solutions. They must also be able to cope with pulsations in flow and pressure.
Our systec PEMS perfectly fulfills all these requirements. The evaluation electronics are based on the TFI4B, which is used in series production by many automotive manufacturers. In the PEMS version, these electronics are supported by an external high-temperature thermometer – a CAN-based PT-1000. The pressure sensors and evaluation electronics are housed in a stainless steel casing, protected against temperature fluctuations and environmental conditions, and are thermally decoupled from the hot Venturi via hoses or steel lines.
Like its siblings, the TFI4B series, the systec PEMS handles pulsations well thanks to its high sampling rate. The primary elements – typically venturis or pitot tubes – can be easily disassembled and cleaned as needed.
