Event Information

Additive manufacturing is a key topic for the future within the "Industry 4.0" megatrend. The innovative process stands on the strategic agenda of corporations, leading research institutes and development institutes as well as small and medium-sized enterprises from nearly all manufacturing industries.

The EXPERIENCE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING (short: EAM) brings AM to life, creates transparency and overview in the massively growing market of additive manufacturing, which has reached the threshold for mass production. With practical business cases, innovations and state-of-the-art, tangible exhibits, EAM supports current and future market participants in capturing the infinite possibilities of AM across procedures, applications and materials, and promotes the exchange of information and knowledge transfer.

The event was initiated as a multi-location event together with the Fraunhofer IGCV and the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management iwb of the Technical University of Munich to help companies with the make-or-buy decision for the use of additive manufacturing processes.

EAM takes place in the heart of Southern Germany and thus in one of the strongest areas for additive manufacturing. The southern German economy represents the entire AM value chain and includes an extraordinary number of users and non-users of AM technologies. As the second oldest city in Germany, Augsburg is not only an attractive and charming trade fair location, but also located in a booming economic and production region.
