Chevrolet has already introduced upgraded variants of the Sail hatch back and sedan models this year. In spite of the addition of the upgraded variants, the sale volume of the manufacturer in the Indian market has not seen any rise considerably. Thus Chevrolet is looking forward to launch more upgrades and facelift variants of the existing models in order to increase the poor sale volume in India. It is informed that Chevrolet will work on facelift variants and upgrades for the next two years and the introduction of new breeds will take place from the year 2017 most probably in Indian market. Thus, we cannot expect the launch of the sub 4 meter compact SUV for the next two years.
The sub 4 metre compact SUV is expected to be one of the most significant models for the Indian portfolio. The manufacturer needs to be double sure about in each and every aspect as the compact Sports Utility Vehicle segment of the Indian market is very tough. The new breed must be capable of tackling well reputed rival models such as Ford Eco Sport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Toyota Innova etc. As per the information, the upcoming SUV is going to be dubbed as Adra and it is going to be developed on General Motor’s new Gamma 2 platform. It is likely to be offered in petrol and diesel versions.
Petrol variant may get powered with a ECOTEC turbo charged engine while the diesel may carry a 1.3L Multi Jet engine.
