Introduction:

Toyota Begins Production of Automotive Battery Manufacturing at North Carolina Battery Plant to Power Electrified Vehicles in US

Features:

Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC), the company's first battery production facility outside Japan, is set to begin operations, with battery shipments for North American electrified vehicles starting in April.

The $14 billion facility, Toyota's 11th U.S. manufacturing plant, will supply batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs), creating 5,000 jobs.

As part of Toyota’s "best-in-town" approach, the plant reinforces the company's commitment to local investment, production, and community engagement. Toyota's total U.S. investment has reached $49 billion, supporting more than 280,000 jobs across the industry. Through this new facility, Toyota aims to drive innovation in electrified mobility while contributing to regional economic growth.
