Introduction
Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. is investing approximately INR 5.758 billion to establish a new plant in the Bidkin Industrial Area of Maharashtra, India. The facility will support the company’s expansion in India’s growing automotive market and strengthen its production network in the country.
Facility
The new plant will manufacture large automotive interior and exterior components, including bumpers and instrument panels.
The facility will use advanced manufacturing technologies, including large moulding machines with automated mould changes, IoT- and DX-based production management systems, and smart automated processes. These processes will combine collaborative robots and karakuri technology to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce investment costs.
The plant will operate as a branch facility of Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt. Ltd. and will become Toyoda Gosei’s eighth location in India.
India’s automotive market is seeing growing demand for SUVs alongside compact cars. Toyoda Gosei considers India a key market and plans to expand its development and production network to support safer and more comfortable mobility.
Operations at the new plant are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2029. The facility will also support increasing production capacity for Japanese automakers, which are among the company’s main customers.
