Introduction:
BMW has announced a significant investment exceeding £600 million in our factories located in Oxford and Swindon.
Features:
Plant Oxford is central to our transition to full electrification. Starting in 2026, we'll be producing two brand-new all-electric MINI models here, and by 2030, the plant will solely manufacture electric vehicles.
We're enhancing the plant with significant upgrades to the body shop, a new battery installation area, and expanded logistics facilities both at Oxford and our Swindon site.
A new generation of MINI models is set to arrive at Plant Oxford soon. From 2024, we'll begin production of the brand-new MINI Cooper 3-door and MINI Cooper 5-door, with the all-electric MINI Cooper and MINI Aceman joining in 2026.
Our skilled team will manufacture up to 200,000 MINIs per year, with both all-electric and petrol models sharing the same production line for optimal efficiency.
By 2030, our Oxford factory will exclusively produce all-electric MINIs, marking our commitment to full electrification across our fleet.
