The Future of Electric Vehicles: Airframe and Chassis Integration - Neta Auto and CATL to Jointly Develop CIIC

12 January 2023

On January 10, Neta Auto and CATL Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd.have signed a CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis cooperation agreement. Neta Auto will become the first brand of Chinese electric vehicle startups to develop CIIC.

Under the terms of this agreement, Neta Auto and CATL ( Shanghai ) Intelligent Technology will cooperate intensively on the CIIC. Thanks to CTC (Cell to Chassis) technology, key components of the battery and other systems are integrated into the lower part of the vehicle, without the need for separate battery packs. This reduces the cost of acquisition for users and energy consumption, increases the distance per charge and makes more room for passengers.

The strategic cooperation between Neta Auto and CATL dates back to 2021. This time, Neta Auto is not only carrying out full cooperation with CATL in technology R&D and supply chain guarantee, but goes further by jointly studying the ability for vehicles to use the skateboard-style chassis.

Peng Qingfeng, co-founder of Neta Auto, said, “Cooperation is an essential deployment of both parties in the era of intelligent electric vehicles, as well as an inevitable choice of common values. This cooperation will allow Neta Auto to design more comfortable and powerful smart vehicles, faster and more economically. This will allow us to more effectively implement the brand value of technological equality around the world. »

The CIIC will help Neta Auto products achieve a higher level of distance per charge, safety and smart driving, to provide customers with safer, more comfortable and more maneuverable EVs.

The cooperation between Neta Auto and CATL ( Shanghai ) Intelligent Technology on the CIIC is a “powerful alliance”. This cooperation will further improve the ecosystem of the two companies across the entire industrial chain and jointly advance the development of electric and intelligent vehicles in China.
