ST suspensions launch coilover kit for Nissan Fairlady Z and Nissan Z: XTA coilover suspension kit now available

13 December 2024

The seventh-generation Nissan Fairlady Z/Nissan Z (RZ34) isn't available in Europe, but suspension manufacturer KW Automotive has developed a coilover suspension kit for the model. The ST XTA coilover suspension includes aluminum uniball top mounts on the front axle, a two-stage racing spring system, and dampers with adjustable low-speed rebound damping. Since this two-door sports car is available only in select markets—Japan, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand—the German-made, made-to-order coilover suspension does not come with a parts certificate. The suspension system allows for infinite adjustment, enabling front axle lowering between 15-35mm and rear axle lowering between 0-25mm. More at www.st-suspensions.com

As tourist drives and track days with production-based sports and compact cars on racetracks gain popularity, ST Suspensions caters to this market with its track-ready ST XTA and ST XTA Plus 3 coilovers. These two suspension systems strike the ideal balance between track performance and everyday drivability. A popular choice among enthusiasts is the Nissan Z (RZ34), available outside of Europe since 2022. The Nissan Z (or Fairlady Z), offered in 406-426 hp variants, is currently sold in Japan, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand.

XTA coilover suspension in detail

The ST XTA, features adjustable dampers and a two-piece racing suspension system, delivers an excellent performance-to-price ratio compared to other suspension kits. This made-to-order coilover suspension kit, manufactured in Germany, enhances the Nissan's grip on both the track and the road, enabling it to tackle fast corners with greater confidence. Unibal top mounts further improve cornering performance. The dampers offer multiple hardness settings, with adjustable rebound damping designed in two stages. At low speeds (steering, braking, acceleration), hydraulic flow is controlled by a 16-click adjustable low-speed bypass valve. At higher piston rod speeds, a spring-loaded high-speed rebound valve activates. This innovative design allows the XTA coilover suspension to significantly improve the Nissan Z's ride comfort without compromising handling, depending on the selected setting. With its adjustable dampers, the sports car offers a wide range of tuning options. This allows for significantly improved steering precision and razor-sharp handling on all roads. The suspension can be lowered between 15-35mm at the front and 0-25mm at the rear. While the Nissan Z isn't available in Germany, the XTA won't have a parts certificate.

For Nissan Z enthusiasts who import their car to Germany or Switzerland, the ST XTA can still be registered in the vehicle documents through an individual acceptance process. The coilover suspension kit offers customization options through the "Make it Yours" program. This program allows you to choose from 18 spring colors, various spring packages, and even individual spring markings. More at www.st-suspensions.com
