Mouser Electronics Announces Formula E Season 11 Partnership with DS Penske and Debuts at Opening Round in Brazil
4 December 2024
Mouser Electronics, a leader in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to drive innovation , has announced it will sponsor the DS Penske Formula E racing team in Season 11, which kicks off on December 7 at the Sambadrome in São Paulo, Brazil . Mouser will sponsor the team alongside TTI and key manufacturers Molex and Kyocera AVX for the 2024/2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season.
This will be the first time that Brazil will host the opening round of the Formula E season, where two-time Formula E World Champion Jean-Éric Vergne will be teaming up with Maximilian Günther to drive the new GEN3 Evo car. The GEN3 Evo is faster, stronger and more agile than its predecessor, and features a new body kit that is more durable, stiffer, more aerodynamic and more aggressively designed. It also offers all-wheel drive for the first time on a Formula E car.
"Mouser is excited to see what the new car can achieve," said Todd McAtee, senior vice president of business development at Mouser Electronics. "With a 0-60 mph acceleration that's 30 percent faster than current F1 cars, this promises to be an exciting season of racing."
"TTI is pleased to once again work with Mouser to support DS Penske in advancing this dynamic sport and its commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility," said Mike Morton, CEO of TTI. "We look forward to many winning years ahead."
"The new car marks the continuing evolution of Formula E and is a powerful showcase for the electrified future of motorsports," said Fred Bell, vice president of global distribution, Molex. "Mouser and Molex have been proud supporters of Formula E since its inception and we wish the DS Penske team every safe and successful season."
"We are pleased to work with Mouser and TTI in partnership with the DS Penske Formula E Racing Team for another exciting season," said Alex Schenkel, senior vice president of global sales, Kyocera AVX.
Formula E continues its pioneering efforts in all-electric racing, with 16 races across 10 iconic venues this season. The globe-trotting schedule includes a return to Miami, Florida, a double-header in Tokyo and Monaco and Formula E's first-ever trip to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before culminating in a double-header finale in London, England, capping off the biggest Formula E race season to date.
Formula E cars are powered solely by electricity and represent a vision for the future of the motorsport industry, serving as a framework for research and development into zero-emission vehicles. Racing is all about speed and endurance, and Mouser sees racing partnerships as a performance-driven business model and an innovative way to promote the latest technologies with its manufacturer partners.
