eSOL and Kalray Expand Collaboration to Meet the High Demands of the Industry, Automotive and Medical Industries.

Kalray, a pioneer in the field of processors for new intelligent systems, and eSOL, a leading developer of real-time embedded software Solutions today announce the availability of the eMCOS POSIX 1 Real Time Operating System (RTOS) from eSOL on the MPPA® intelligent processor from Kalray. This is to meet the increasing and high standards of performance and safety in the markets for vehicles, industry and medicine. The support extends the already existing eMCOS core profile, which has already been available on the MPPA architecture for several years.

eSOL is considered a key player in embedded markets such as vehicles, in particular thanks to its contribution to AUTOSAR ("AUTomotive Open System Architecture"), the worldwide development partnership for vehicle market participants. Such a partnership will allow the use of a wide range of applications on the Kalray MPPA® processor, including advanced control frameworks such as the Robot Operating System for robotic control, Autoware for autonomous driving and other embedded software frameworks. These rich operating systems and middleware take full advantage of Kalray's MPPA architecture and provide a consistent environment for customers who transition from 2nd generation MPPA® Bostan to the 3rd generation Coolidge and want to continue using similar tools when developing applications.

ESOL's unique distributed microkernel architecture allows for the optimal use of multi-core processors such as Kalray's MPPA®. While eMCOS Core provides a PSE51 single-context POSIX API for parallel high-performance computing, eMCOS POSIX adds support for PSE53 multiprocessing POSIX to allow advanced software integration where more storage space is available.

The collaboration between eSOL and Kalray also extends to the provision of AUTOSAR-compliant software platforms, including the AUTOSAR Classic platform and the Adaptive Platform, to meet modern automotive standards. This integration will help customers integrate more features into MPPA® based systems while still meeting isolation and security requirements.
