Under the agreement, CATL will develop, manufacture and deliver batteries for the Newton eTrailer, which will be launched in 2023 to promote sustainable road transport development in Europe.

CATL provides Trailer Dynamics with a stable supply of batteries to meet the requirements in Europe with regard to greenhouse gas emissions by reducing diesel consumption and carbon emissions. The Newton eTrailer, Trailer Dynamics' first electric semi-trailer model, responds to the driving behavior of its coupled tractor with integrated electric drives and supports it with an integrated electrical transmission system that intelligently manages the electrical energy resources along the entire route. Both sides use the batteries creatively for the semi-trailer, improving efficiency and also reducing operating costs.

The LFP chemical system is characterized by an exceptionally long cycle life and a high thermal transition temperature of up to 800 ° C. Together with the technology of liquid cooling, it enables the products to perform excellently in terms of safety and reliability as well as a wide range of outside temperatures. By using the advanced CTP technology, the Newton eTrailer also has higher product efficiency and can achieve a system energy density of 155 Wh / kg.
