GWM held a press conference at the 44th Bangkok International Auto Show on March 21 to announce the start of the first pre-sales of the GWM TANK500 HEV hybrid electric vehicle. The event attracted the attention of the local media and car dealership visitors.

“The GWM TANK500 hybrid electric vehicle marks a new chapter for Thailand's new energy vehicle industry. It will provide users with more convenience on the road, and we can't wait to experience its high performance as well," Wongautocar, a local popular media outlet, said in a publication.

The GWM TANK500 hybrid electric vehicle inherits state-of-the-art off-road capabilities, superior comfort and state-of-the-art smart features. The model will be able to meet the diverse needs of consumers in the process of driving and traveling.

It is based on the super hybrid architecture GWM TANK. Combining engines, differential locks and a TOD all-wheel drive system, this architecture boasts distinctive advantages such as high performance, low fuel consumption and intelligent off-road power. This will enable consumers to overcome tough road conditions, including climbing mountains, driving in wetlands or mud.
The GWM TANK500 hybrid is focused on creating a luxurious and enjoyable experience for consumers. Interior design details, including a large-format intelligent control screen, digital traffic display and leather seats, provide a luxurious feel. The model is equipped with a double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, which allows it to provide convenience to consumers in various scenarios, including city and off-road driving.

Another distinguishing feature of the model is its intelligence. The GWM TANK500 hybrid, this time in the Thai market, is equipped with an advanced intelligent driver assistance system that combines front and rear electronic differential locks, TANK swivel mechanism, wading depth technology, off-road cruise control and transparent body technology. With transparent body technology, drivers can quickly understand the road conditions by detecting the surrounding conditions using cameras, which improves driving safety.

The official launch of the GWM TANK brand in the Thai market took place at the press conference. GWM TANK, positioned worldwide as a premium SUV brand, aims to create a new category of products that meet the different lifestyles of consumers around the world, under the brand motto "Protected, Special and Free".

The GWM TANK brand has previously been launched in several global markets, including the Middle East and Australia, and has received recognition from local media and users. The debut in Thailand will be one of the important steps for GWM TANK to enter the world market. In the near future, GWM TANK will also enter other markets of ASEAN countries.

Since the founding of GWM TANK in 2021, more than 200,000 units of this brand's products have been sold worldwide. The manufacturer will use cutting-edge technology to create a more diverse product portfolio that will enable even more consumers to enjoy the experience of intelligent, safe and reliable off-road driving with hybrid electric vehicles.
