BYD and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) form a strategic alliance to promote electric mobility

BYD Ecuador and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) announced that an Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement was recently formalized, with the aim of advancing the cause of electric mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean.

OLADE, under the leadership of its executive secretary, Andres Rebolledo Smitmans, and BYD, represented by Jorge Burbano, country manager of BYD Ecuador, signed this agreement, solidifying their joint commitment to promote electric vehicles and accelerate energy transitions in the region .

Founded in 1973, OLADE is a respected intergovernmental cooperation organization dedicated to promoting energy integration, development and conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean. For its part, BYD, founded in 1995, is a leading technology company focused on innovation in various sectors, such as automobiles, electronics, rail transport and new energies.

The collaboration foreseen in this agreement will cover crucial elements such as the promotion of sustainable mobility, the holding of workshops and specialized training in electromobility. These initiatives will be aimed at both the public and private sectors, the academic world, specialized unions and civil society in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, the alliance will include visits and technical demonstrations at OLADE facilities, specifically focused on electromobility, for universities, technology centers, educational institutions, unions and related organizations. Additionally, BYD vehicles will be used in OLADE's electromobility studies, aligning with OLADE's work plans.

BYD will significantly contribute to this collaboration by providing a TANG EV electric vehicle model along with a charging station. This equipment will be used to demonstrate the electrical infrastructure and vehicle autonomy, emphasizing the advantages of electric vehicles.
