Porsche, the German car manufacturer, is all geared up to launch the new Porsche 911 in the Indian automotive market. It is being said that Porsche will launch four models of the latest generation Porsche 911 that will include the 911 Carrera S, 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Turbo S Cabriolet and the 911 Turbo. The 2016 Porsche 911 was fir unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new generation model gets redesigned exteriors and interiors along with a few mechanical upgrades.
The 2016 Porsche 911 will be imported into the country as a CBU unit. The 911 Carrera S and Carrera Cabriolet are powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo charged flat-six petrol engine producing 370 bhp of power and 450Nm of torque in the Carrera Cabriolet, while the same engine produces 420bhp of power and 500Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 911 Carrera Turbo and the Turbo S Cabriolet are powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 533bhp in the former and 572bhp of power in the later. All the variants of the Porsche 911 come mated to a PDK 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Aesthetically, the car sports a newly designed front facia with the new projector headlamps along with integrated LED daytime running lights. The wide air dam sits lower at the centre of the front bumper along with the large air intakes on either side of the bumper. Inside the cabin, the car features a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment display that comes with multi-touch feature that enables the user to input hand written texts. The 2019 Porche 911 also comes with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) that allows Smartphone connectivity between various platforms while the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) allows users to raise the ground clearance by 10mm. Other features include the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC). The 2016 Porsche 911 is expected to be priced between INR 1.5 crore to INR 3 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
