Polaris planning to launch Victory electric cruiser motorcycle

Trademark applications with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) have been leaked on the internet and it shows that Polaris has registered "Victory Charger, name. The "Victory Charger, moniker would most likely be used for the upcoming electric motorcycle from the Victory brand. This doesn't come as a surprise, as recently Polaris that owns the Victory brand purchased Brammo's electric motorcycle business. During the acquisition it had announced that it would be building a new electric motorcycle at the company's facilities in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The upcoming electric motorcycle from Victory will most likely be an electric cruiser motorcycle as Brammo had listed an "eCruiser, in its upcoming launch section of the website. The electric cruiser motorcycle from Victory would be a direct rival to its nemesis Harley-Davidson's Project Livewire concept bike that has gained lot of attention across the globe. This development also shows that Polaris would use the Indian brand to rival the traditional Harley-Davidson motorcycles while Victory will be pitched as a more modern and niche marquee to take on the Project Livewire.

Given the fact that Mission Motors which was supposed to develop and help Harley with key parts for the Project Livewire project is facing a rough time financially, there is a possibility that Victory might pip Harley in this race and go in production earlier than its rival. These developments does make for an interesting case as now it would be the American bikemakers pioneering the electric motorcycle development in the near future unlike the Japanese or European two-wheeler giants as anticipated.
