Insert Collars

Advanex provides insert collars, which are key components for automotive industry. These insert collars provide a reliable and durable fixing platform many plastic components found in a vehicle assembly such as; electronic sensors for ABS, fuel control, thermostat and cruise control systems; plastic engine covers and sumps; automatic gear selectors; pedak bar assemblies and structural plastic parts.

These insert collars are manufactured from high strength carbon steel (per ASTM A1008). The unique concept of our company provides a stronger bonding to parent plastic material, and uses a forming method, which can achieve tighter tolerances than many of the current ranges in the market. For exceptional corrosion resistance, a zinc-nickel with clear chromate plating is applies.

Advanex offers custom designed impressions.

Key features & benefits:

  • Prevents damage to parent material
  • Designed for either pressed-in or moulded-in applications
  • Superior retention & anti-rotational characteristics
  • Lower cost than solid tube and knurled limiters
  • Custom design for your application

Advanex insert collars can be used in applications such as:

  • Sensor clusters
  • Ignition control
  • Camshaft control
  • Manifold intake assembly
  • Plastic assemblies

Industrial Pressings

Advanex is known for manufacturing pressings for the automotive industry. Our team of experts work together to provide the right design solutions for functionality.

Spring steels, stainless steels, copper alloys, nickel alloys, and a range of special materials such as titanium, elgiloy, Hastelloy, kanthal etc

Electroplating, organic zinc coatings, autophoretic painting, phosphating, oiling, or as required.

Hand manufacturing, press work, multi-slide manufacture, photo-etching, laser cutting, wire eroding, vibro-deburring, barrelling, shot peening.

This reduction in scrap material benefits our customers with not only the cost but reduces the overall effect to the environment.

Potential applications include:

  • Audio systems
  • Seat frame suspension
  • Seatbelt locking
  • Alternator / starters
  • TV / Mobile devices
  • Li Battery connectors and buss-bars

Insert Moulding

Insert moulding components are used to combine metal and polymer materials. This requires various factors to be correct to achieve precision components at efficient production speeds.

Advanex combines plastic injection moulding technology, with extensive metal stamping skills, in a single production line to achieve the highest quality from high volume production.

Typical applications include:

  • GPS systems
  • Proximity sensors
  • Airbag release units
  • Infotainment systems
  • TV / Mobile devices
  • Switch units

CoilThread & Inserts

Advanex are the originators and manufacturers of the industry accredited KATO® CoilThread®.

KATO® CoilThread® is the worlds’ leading wire thread insert that creates, protects, reinforces and repairs screw threads. The complete range of standard inserts is available in Locking and Free Running thread forms in Metric and Unified sizes, ranging from M2.5 to M12 in Metric, and 2-56 to 1/2-13 in Unified. All sizes can be supplied in 1D, 1.5D and 2D lengths. Advanex can provide longer 2.5D & 3D lengths available upon request.

Tangless® & Tanged

The Tangless version of KATO® CoilThread® inserts perform like Tanged inserts but do not need tang break-off and retrieval. They are quickly and easily installed, adjusted or removed offering substantial cost savings.

Our high quality inserts are produced from the best quality materials which include:

  • Aluminium
  • Stainless steel
  • Inconel
  • Phosphor bronze
  • Nitronic 60®
  • Nimonic 90®
  • Titanium

  • Free of Foreign Object Debris.
  • No tang to break off, retrieve, lose or count.
  • Time saving
  • Bi-directional design.
  • Strip Feed packaging also available to increase installation time
  • Reusable

KATO® CoilThread® inserts can be used in a range of applications such as:

  • Gearboxes
  • Engine components
  • Oil sumps
  • Antennas
  • Chassis

Deep Drawn Components

Advanex provides components that are in excess of up to forty times length to diameter ratio (LDR 40:1) but we are constantly challenging our technology and are pushing the boundaries.

Deep drawing is a process which uses tensile forces to stretch metal to a cylindrical shape; these have been used across a wide range of industries including automotive.

From a functional standpoint, deep drawn metal forming produces high strength and light weight parts as well as incorporating shapes and other forms impossible with some other manufacturing processes.

Deep drawn metal forming is particularly economical at high volumes, where reduced processing cost significantly lowers piece-part cost. At smaller volumes, the process can be more economical than progressive die stamping due to reduced tool costs

Deep drawn components offer the advantage of being able to replace several components within a device or product with one formed part.

Our deep drawn components can be used in a range of applications such as:

  • Sensor parts
  • Pin plugs
  • Audio plug in
  • Probe pins
