Nihon Plast Co, a Japanese safety and electrical auto parts supplier, will open an auto components plant in central China's Wuhan city as early as next January, the Xinhua news agency reported.
The plant will manufacture and market auto security products as well as electrical parts. Construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed by January 2010.
Nihon Plast mainly manufactures airbags, engine components, instrument panels, interior trim parts, steering wheels, and other automobile parts that are always in great demand among major auto manufacturers, including Honda and Nissan.
It also makes electrical components used in gaming machines, synthetic resins, chemicals, and packaging used for shipping machines. Honda, which has been purchasing auto products from the company since 1968, owns about 20% of Nihon Plast.
