Ficosa International and OMRON Corporation have formed a 50:50 joint venture for development, production and commercialization of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology for the global automotive market. The joint venture shall be headquartered in Germany and shall operate through a subsidiary in Spain.
The joint venture shall produce driver aid systems that detect, recognize and inform the driver about what’s happening around the vehicle (360 degrees: front, back, side, vertical, and horizontal fields of view). Thus enabling the driver to prevent accidents
Product line of the joint venture includes blind spot detection, lane departure warning, parking assistance, start-up warning, vehicle recognition, traffic sign recognition, rear monitor, front light recognition, short-range observation and pedestrian recognition, all with the added value of integrating several functions, such as those related to front vision, in a unique system.
