Automotive Technology - A Key Resource to Automotive Technology

PSA Peugeot Citroën has expressed plans to develop a new line of 1-litre 3 cylinder petrol engines with power ranging from 70 to 100 CV. These engines are expected to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, thus enabling PSA to retain its competitive position. The company is establishing new production facilities on the PSA Peugeot Citroën site at Trémery for manufacturing these engines. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 engines, and will be functional by 2011. The company also plans to establish a second facility in Eastern Europe by 2012 for producing these engines, the location for which is yet to be decided.
