American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM) has expressed plans to install a new production plant in Thailand. The company has acquired 21 acres of land in an industrial park for installation of the plant that will be constructed on an area of 90,000 square-foot. The plant is expected to become operational in Spring of 2008.

Commenting on the development AAM co-founder, Chairman & CEO Richard E. Dauch said, "Our new facility in Thailand represents a significant expansion of our manufacturing footprint in the important economy of Asia where growing demand for vehicles is accelerating production volumes. AAM is continuing to invest in products and markets where we can best serve our customers and have the opportunity to drive profitable growth."
