Korea based Kumho tires company, which is also the tenth largest tire company in the world inked an agreement to install a tire manufacturing facility in Sofkee Industrial Park, Macon, Georgia. The plant will be built on a 127-acre site, and involves an installation cost of US$225 million.
The plant shall be constructed in two phases. The first phase will cost $165 million and will produce 2.1 million tires per anum. The second phase will cost US$60 million and will increase the production capacity by 3.1 million tires per anum.
