Advance Auto Parts to open in Greencastle,North America

Wednesday, Nov 12, 2014

Advance Auto Parts Inc., the largest automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America serving both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets, according to company officials, announced it will open its first store in Greencastle on Thursday.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony for the store, at 203 Antrim Way across the street from Antrim Way Honda, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 18.

Company officials said they chose that location for the store because it's convenient to where their customers live and shop, as well as the garages where they take their vehicles for repair.

Benjamin Muhs is the new general manager and will work with nine other team members at the new Greencastle location.

A 10-year veteran of the automotive and retail sales industries, Muhs has been with the Advance Auto Parts Team for more than eight years.

The new store offers customers a range of parts and national brands as well as several free services.

Store team members will provide free installation for new windshield wipers and also offer a complimentary check of the vehicle's electrical system and battery, as well as provide free installation of a new battery with purchase on most vehicles.

The store offers parts delivery to local commercial customers such as professional mechanics and garages. During regular store hours, customers may drop off used motor oil and batteries for recycling — ensuring that these materials don't end up in landfills where they could harm the environment.

"Advance Auto Parts is committed to bringing our Promise –—Service is our best part — to life not only for our customers, but also in the communities where our customers and Team Members live. As part of this commitment, we are pleased to announce a $1,000 check has been donated to Building Homes for Heroes," said Muhs in a statement.

For the do-it-yourself crowd, the company's website also offers articles, online videos and audio and video podcasts on the web site's "Advance Know-How" section.

The store will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Other area stores are at 902 Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg and 1510 E. Main St. in Waynesboro.
