Barry Pottle Elected ATA Vice Chairman

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On October 21, American Trucking Associations' board of directors elected Barry Pottle, president and CEO of Pottle's Transportation, as the federation's vice chairman.

American Trucking Associations is the largest national trade association for the trucking industry. Through a federation of 50 affiliated state trucking associations and industry-related conferences and councils, ATA is the voice of the industry America depends on most to move our nation's freight.Trucking Moves America Forward.

Pottle's Transportation was founded by Barry Pottle's father, Clifton Pottle, in 1972. In 1988, after working for Pottle's Transportation for 9 years, the younger Pottle purchased the truckload motor carrier company from his father. He oversaw massive expansions in Pottle's Transportation's business operations and now manages a fleet of 180 trucks, over 500 trailers and terminals in Bangor and Fairfield, Maine and Allentown, Pa.

A member of ATA since 1994, Pottle has served on the Highway Policy Committee, Communications & Image Committee, Nominating Committee, and as chairman of the Truck PAC. He has also represented Maine and other states by serving in various roles on the ATA Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Pottle is a past chairman of the Truckload Carriers Association and the Maine Motor Transport Association, where he currently serves on the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and is chairman of the Maine Truck PAC.

Barry and his wife, Suzanne, have been married for 26 years. They have three children, Daren, Matt and Chelsea.
