In order to regain market share in the mid-size sedan in India, Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) today launched refresh version of Verna, priced between Rs 7.74 lakh and Rs 12.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Currently, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz dominates the segment by selling 7671 units and 6005 units in January 2015 respectively. Hyundai sold only 1620 units of Verna in January 2015. Like its rivals Verna has also been launched in both petrol and diesel engine options spreading into 10 variants.
Speaking on the launch of, BS Seo, MD and CEO, HMIL said "The launch of the all- new Verna marks Hyundai's success as a premium car manufacturer winning customers' love and trust globally. As the most caring brand, the new Verna is a result of human engineering to contribute to the brilliant moments of our customers' life. Alongside its stunning fluidic design and technological finesse enhances driver and passenger comfort." The Hyundai Verna has sold over 2.3 million units globally, he added.
Beginning with a substantial share in the mid-sized sedan segment, Verna had started losing out to rivals. While Honda City sold 7,671 units and Maruti Ciaz 6,005 units in January, Verna clocked only 1,620 units.
First introduced in the year 2006, Hyundai Verna has spread customer delight in 66 countries caring for over 2.3 million customers across the world. The all- new 4S Fluidic Verna will set yet another benchmark in the mid high sedan segment.
The company claims that the car has received high 5-star ratings from N-CAP worldwide.
