AB Technology fabricates precision parts using advanced material composites such as magnesium alloy, i.e. AZ91D, AM60B, etc. The company also carries out prototype tool and tooling fabrication for magnesium alloys, aluminium and plastic. Magnesium is the lightest of the useful metals and the 3rd most abundant metal element after aluminium and iron. The spectacular growth in industrial demand for magnesium can be attributed to two important factors, its superior material properties, and the advanced production technology which eliminates many of the traditional barriers in magnesium usage, such as cost, corrosiveness and flammability. AB Tech is the first company in South East Asia to use Thixomolding technology for mass production of precision parts. Thixomolding® is an advanced and simplified technique inspired by plastic injection molding. Magnesium alloy, in chip form, is heated in a cylinder of the injection molding machine, transforming it into fluid semi-solid slurry without coming into contact with air and subsequently injected into the mold.
